Coach Martinez - 18U

Head Coach

Coach Jesse Martinez has been a truly valued member of the EXTREME FAST PITCH family since 2014. As our 18U head Coach, he works closely with our team members to make sure they’re performing to the best of their ability.

Coach Gonzalez - 14U


The EXTREME FAST PITCH team wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for Coach Armando Gonzalez who oversees our strategy and advises on the best course of action. We really couldn’t have wished for a better Head Coach.

Coach Marcos Rios - 10U & 18U

Head Coach

Marcos was a standout catcher for the Moreau Catholic, Chabot College and University of South Carolina from 1992-2000. He was the top hitter on Moreau’s team for two seasons and led the league in hitting his senior year. Marcos earned a scholarship to the University of South Carolina after 2 years at Chabot, Marcos helped take the team to an SEC title in 2000 and made it to the Super Regional Playoffs. Marcos was 1996 Player of the Year in the HAAL and was All Nor-Cal and an All- American in 1998. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in 1996 and 1997. Marcos is #2 on the All-Time homerun list at Chabot and was named the catcher of the 90’s.

Marcos started the Extreme Softball in 2012 after coaching baseball for 7 years. He and his father Fernando started Extreme Baseball in 2014 and currently have 11 teams. Combined Extreme has over 200 athletes in the program in which many of them play high school and college ball. 


Marcos dedicates his success to his family and has been happily married to his wife Carmen for 14 years and they have 3 beautiful children, Analeese, Xavier and Sienna.

Coach Sarah Woofter - 10U

Assistant General Manager

Player Development & Coordinator

Sarah currently is a private Softball / Baseball Instructor and Athletic Trainer in the East Bay. Throughout the week she gives private hitting and fielding instruction to both boys and girls, ranging from the ages of 9 to 22. Sarah conducts boot camps for both adults and youth age groups, and has put together large summer camps that have hosted college coaches and players from across the U.S.  She is very big on giving back to the community and has hosted several clinics to raise money for families who have suffered from loss.


As a senior at the University of California San Diego, in 2011, Sarah Woofter helped lead her team to their first and only National Championship.  The Tritons defeated the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, the University of Alabama-Huntsville. In the National Championship game Sarah went 3-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base in the 10-3 victory.  At the NCAA Division II College Softball World Series she batted .455 overall, and finished her senior year with an overall .321 batting average.


Sarah Woofter was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.  She attended San Leandro High School and while there she was a 4-year Varsity athlete in both Softball and Basketball.  Coach Woofter finished her scholastic career with a 4.25 overall GPA at San Leandro High. She was chosen as the female representative and nominee for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award at the conclusion of her Senior Year.  Just last year Sarah Woofter was also inducted into the San Leandro Sports Hall of Fame 2017 class.


She dedicates her success to her family, parents Akemi Woofter and Tom Woofter, and three older brothers Matthew, Isaac and Daniel.

Coach Cortez - 18U

Coach Vic Cortez has been with us since the very beginning and as our Assistant Coach, and trains and mentors our players, offering professional and quality guidance throughout the season.

Coach Cruz - 12U

Coach Israel Cruz  joined the EXTREME FAST PITCH family in 2019 and we are thrilled to have him. As one of our newest Assistant Coach, Coach Cruz brings an exciting energy and style to our program and will work closely with our team and coach to assist in helping them perform to the best of their ability.

Coach Temoche - 10U

Assistant Coach

Johnny Temoche - Bay Area native raised in Hayward CA. Married for 14 years and have 3 daughters. Attended Mt. Eden High School and Chabot College.  Versatile Softball Coach who is able to coach men’s , women’s, and youth competitive teams.  Adept at utilizing the talents of players creating a strong team environment and emphasizing sportsmanship over all else. 

Coach Poulos - 14U

Head Coach

Lance Poulos joined Extreme Softball in January 2018 and brings with him 9 plus years of competitive/travel softball experience as well as 5 years coaching competitive/travel baseball. Lance played baseball himself locally at Castro Valley High School before moving on to college where he played Division II baseball at California State University at Hayward, CA (3 years) and Chabot Junior College in Hayward (1 year).  Once his playing days concluded, he returned to Cal State Hayward and earned his Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice.  
Lance has been married for the past 14 years, has a son and daughter both of whom play multiple sports including travel softball and baseball, and together they live in Castro Valley, CA.
